Why these Super Nintendo/Super Famicom games are BETTER in Japan! Part 2
Nintendo’s 16-bit Super Nintendo and Super Famicom were both quite popular in Japan and North America. However, quite a lot of Japanese game software for the Super Famicom was significantly different and is much more affordable to collect these days. In this video I am going to go over eight more games that are better in Japan, and quite a lot cheaper is quite a lot better.
Nintendo actually used the exact same motherboard in both the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom systems but the American SNES design was larger with more empty space inside and made more boxy, less sexy in order to resemble the previous generation of US Nintendo hardware. As with the 8-Bit Famicom Japanese gamers were much more likely to support the previous generations of gaming hardware when the PlayStation and N64 were released. American gamers promptly abandoned 16-bit hardware and as a result of this American copies of these games are much fewer in circulation and thus quite more expensive.
Collecting for the Super Famicom really is quite a different experience than just sticking to US Super Nintendo games. The Super Famicom is one of my favorite systems to collect and play and I have a lot more awesome stuff to cover.
