DOOM Eternal - The Ancient Gods, Part 1, DLC is EASIER than you think. But why? There’s a few reasons. My name is Allstin, let’s dive right in.
The VERY first point I have to make - I’m not saying the DLC is easy - Hugo, Marty, Id Software. please don’t mistake me for saying that. This video is a testament to the players, our abilities, and the strategies we find and things we learn along the way.
So the DLC is easier in more ways than one. But did you realize that the reasons aren’t just the physical mechanics, but mental execution & composure as well?
It’s no secret that most people will say the DLC is harder. WHY it’s harder is something that could have its own video, but here's the main idea:
The thing that makes the DLC hard is the map design.
But... This is the origin of the Fun Zone in the game, and one reason that this video’s thesis can exist.
Take my buddy, UnderTheMayo. Creator of the Brawler Mode challenge. It restricts your weaponry and tools, in an attempt to craft a specific playstyle and challenge.
And LightningBreak, I interviewed him on the channel, he’s one of the best, beat it ultra nightmare with no extra crystals. The same guy who did Proteh’s Horde Mode Mod on Ultra-Nightmare... in third person!
As you play the game and spend these hours working at the craft of DOOM, you begin to improve. You see things and mistakes you make, strategies to implement, that you never realized before...
Failure is a teacher, to help make the DLC easier.
if it’s frustrating, in a GOOD way - because that way you learn from, it and it motivates you to push further, but has to be a good kind of frustration, and not bad. A motivator.

That’s why when people say “you have to play nightmare”, yeah I feel you get the best experience, use the tools, and most out of the doom dance, but Hugo has said the game is for everyone.
