No fancy intro. Quickly grabbed this on my phone once I realised what was happening.
Just like on 3DS transfers, Pikmin move all the data between consoles in the most physically convoluted process I have ever done on a console.

Switch on Wii U, go to Wii Menu
Open Transfer App, follow instructions,
Download NEW Transfer app, read instructions.
Insert SD Card.
Switch on Wii, Download Transfer App,
Read instructions, Insert SD Card from Wii U.
Data Transfers, Switch SD Card BACK to Wii U,
Download data from SD Card.

But, on the bright side. Who said Pikmin weren't going to be on Wii U from launch? Haha!
