Freya is the ruler of Folkvangr, a realm where she receives half of those who die in battle, sharing this honour with Odin. She is depicted as a passionate and independent figure, riding a chariot pulled by cats or wearing the Brísingamen, a necklace symbolising her allure. Freya embodies the duality of love and conflict, fertility and power. Ymir, a primordial being in Norse mythology, is the ancestor of all giants (Jötnar).
