George R.R. Martin. The author of the 'Song of Ice and Fire' series knows he writes very slowly. His readers know, the Game of Thrones audience knows, and the world at large knows. Well, what will happen if the HBO's Game of Thrones series not only catches up to where Martin left off in the books, but passes him?

Will the series writers go their own way and make up a storyline? Will they go more in-depth into current storylines?
