To run the game it was necessary to install the latest version of the Games For Windows client (http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/Live/PC/DownloadClient) as the version supplied by Steam was out of date and will not install on Windows 8 or 10.

Once this was installed the game would launch, but would not allow the detail level or resolution to be set as it could not see the NVIDIA cards video memory. To correct this the Launch Options "-norestrictions -nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 2048.0" were added to over-ride the games memory limitations.

Once these things were done the game loaded and functioned correctly.
