For one and a half weeks then here in the North West of England, it has done nothing but rain ( I mean really rain hard ).

So it was a real nice surprise when I did on the 27th of December 2014 see Arctic like conditions on the hills / mountains of the Peak District.

I my-self have never done Winter Camping or Hammocking before so I decided that this day I would go and give it a go. That I did do and this time I slept in a new hammock system.

My "bedroom" included the following

1) Tarp (nb: to fight off rain, wind and snow )
2) Czech Army Bedroll (nb: Great Hammock Sleeping Bag )
3) Reflective Foam Space Blanket (nb: Placed inside my Army Bed Roll)
4) Storage Hammock (nb: This time I wanted my rucksack to be protected from the elements too.

Additional steps I took to keep warm and I am glad that I did do here as it really was that cold was then.

1) Balaclava
2) Scrim net Scarf
3) Hunting Trousers (nb: twin layers)
4) Snow Boarding Trousers (nb: worn over Hunting Trousers )
5) Doubled up on my socks

During the night my body maintained a percentage ratio of 85% warmth, it was just that 15% of my body was getting the "Chill Factor". The parts of my body that was getting cold the most was A) My Bum and B) The outside of my legs.

I placed my waterproof jacket under my bottom, this helped to stop the chill, but as for my legs then nothing I really could do but put up with it.

Any way it was an experience / journey into the wilderness that I won't forget for a long time. Again I was 85% warm all night so that to me was a comfortable nights sleep in spite of the odd tossing and turning to keep the outer parts of my legs warm.

PS: The Mountain that you see in the Thumbnail and in the actual video is Kinder Scout as seen from Lyme Park on the 27th December 2014

NB: Just an update people then, Fox Recon™ has NO CONNECTION with any Air Soft Companies.

It's been bought to my attention that an Air Soft Company may be using the Fox Recon name.

Thanks
