He is tricky to begin with because speed is key on the track but so is handling. When you first face Fernandez if he is faster than you don’t panic. You can use 2 weapons if your behind him be sure you equip uncommon or better as Talon Junction is a whole length. Try to use cannons to slow him down but don’t get trigger happy and leech beam helps you to catch him but do not get out of range or you will immediately lose if you choose a poor performance ship. If you are in front of him take advantage with a bomb or mines to slow him down if he shoots his missile. If your ship performance on D class is smoother and can out perform the boss any cloak can make it a cakewalk.
