With you till the end!! - Toughness Contest in Hyper & Master rank | Pokémon Sapphire #2
These were the last Toughness Contests that I managed to win to get the next star on the Trainer Card. It was devastating and exciting at the same time, but we made it in the end. I won all Contests in all categories in Master rank in less than 24 hours. I started recording this video at 9:00 p.m. and finished at 11:14 p.m., it was almost 2 hours and 15 minutes of non-stop recording.
I came from recording the previous video successfully and with great confidence. I thought that after winning the last Smartness Contest with Tentacool, I had overcome the most difficult, but it was not like that. As I could not win in the first attempt of the Toughness Contest in Hyper rank, I decided to re-record from the beginning as I said in the video. Then, after winning the Contest at that level, came the last and most difficult. I was getting frustrated every time I made more attempts. On the eighth try, I was so frustrated by that Gyarados's Hyper Beam that a bad word escaped from my mouth. After that, I ventured a bit and had more patience in the next attempts. It was getting late and there came a point when my mother yelled at me how angry she was that I did not leave my room for dinner. Meanwhile, I kept trying over and over again, I couldn't believe what was happening to me. On the twelfth attempt I was close to winning doing one of the best performances I did up to that point, however, Irma's Heracross took the victory thanks to the first vote. Although I knew that I could have got more points if I had used one move instead of another in the later rounds of that Contest.
I finally got it on try 32, not 31 as I had lost count for a moment. The Contests that I thought were going to be the easiest to win turned out to be the hardest. Interestingly, I almost did the same with the Toughness Contests of my Azumarill in my Pokémon Ruby. After winning the remaining Contest, exhausted, I went straight to dinner with my cold food and after that, I decided to record the next and last video of the day. My advice is that you never trust Pokémon Contests, in addition, they are more difficult to win considering my challenge.
