WITWI - New Cycle, Anno Alternative? [ULTRAWIDE REVIEW]
If the developers can fix the electricity for this game, it will go a long way.

Very similar to Anno in a way, New Cycle is a city builder in which all buildings have to be connected to your main hall via roads.
Residential buildings need to be close to hospitals, tavers, and other amendities provided to the citizens to keep them happy. They upgrade however by taking an exam to achieve the next level of citizen that is required for certain upgraded production buildings. Passing the exam is not guaranteed but they do pass more often than not.
At the time of this review, the game is in Early Access and I would like to mention the following adjustments that I would like to see in the game before full release:
Reworked electricity
Mass upgrade tool
Mass demolish tool (Mass select tool in general)
More resources in the world view
More clear distinction of establised bases in world view
Other than that what the game has to offer is incredibly high value especially for an early access title.
The research panel is one of the nicest research panels I have see in a game like this, with easily achievable research goals for each technological advancement.
There are currently 3 building tiers in the game that you can build, many of them being upgrades to previous tier buildings that offer boosted production at the cost of higher resource requirements to build and more electricity use.
One oversight are the mine resources. You cannot see them, there is no indication of their existence, until a mine is built next to them to reveal them, or another building is built where they are located. I built a train station next to one but I cannot build the 4th set of tracks since it interferes with that invisibile building.
There is no panel that shows you what buildings need how many and what workers either. Expanding on lacking features, there is no precise homelessness or other requirement number. Only a percentage. I do not want to do rough math in the middle of the game, just tell me how many citizens are homeless so I can address it.
I am looking forward to coming back to this game once it fully releases!
