Wizordum early access playthrough (v0.6.1.5.1): Episode 1
Wizordum may look like a callback to the Wolfenstein 3D era at first glance, but that comparison hardly does it justice - its level design and environmental detail goes way deeper.
I originally played Wizordum's demo over 2 years ago and it was already clear the game puts plenty of emphasis on secret-hunting, but it wasn't until playing the early access version now that I saw just how surprisingly massive its levels can get and how much the engine is capable of (with a map editor included, no less).
Needless to say, I've been absolutely blown away - but I could imagine the sheer size of some of the later levels in E1 might be more than some players bargained for, as some of them skew far closer to Arcane Dimensions than anything in the early 90s in terms of how long you can spend if you want to try to discover everything they have to offer. I'm sad to say there were a handful of things I would've loved to find that eluded me. That being said, I may very well wind up doing a second playthrough when 1.0 launches.
On the topic of 1.0, this definitely ain't there yet - there were quite a few bugs (or in some cases, possibly just UI gaffes that end up looking like bugs). Some of them can significantly hamper enjoyment, so I hope the dev team takes time to sort those out first. Aside from those, the game is very cool and the level design is way more than I was expecting.
