Excellent color palette. Highly detailed and well lit weapon sprites with original 3d animations when player moves. Character's face on the HUD which reminds of B.J.

Improvements of every aspect of wolf3d. More challenge, but also more room for player skill. Hitscanners annoy you? No more hitscan enemies at all. Blocky levels are too monotonous? Geometry is more complex now but the sense of simple old game is still there. And "DOS" loading screen is a great touch.

Level design is impressive. Excellent variety of places, outdoor and indoor, textures and atmospheres. Strong gameplay functioning of locations: plenty of cover that not only the player, but also enemies can use to their advantage. It shows itself the most in the final level, where crowd of dangerous spell-casting monks will do everything in their power to flank you.
