Originally released by Japanese indie developer Arantadoh around November 2022, World Fighting Generation is a 2D fighting game with a "world tournament" theme, with characters from various nationalities (all of which were previously M.U.G.E.N characters from the same developer) duking it out.
World Fighting Generation is a six-button fighter (light, medium, and heavy variants of punches and kicks) that also follows chain combo rules (you can chain one normal attack to another). You have three bars of meter to play with, and super attacks could either use up one (standard super attacks) or three bars (for more powerful super attacks). There aren't that many notable game mechanics here, outside of basic techniques such as double jumping and air blocking. What's unique to World Fighting Generation, however, are several quirks that Arantadoh probably did not foresee (assuming that they meant to balance this game for a competitive setting).
The game is slightly unbalanced - most characters could chain any normal attacks to themselves repeatedly. While pushback still exists and would prevent you from landing that many hits mid-screen, it's still a good way to rack up damage. Some characters, like Rock Stone and Khazana Saffron, don't even have pushback in the corner, so you can get away with mashing heavy punch, and it'll chain into itself as a true combo. In addition, hitboxes in this game are all over the place - Schmitt BF-400's Swing Rotation (214K) is invincible throughout the attack, and Rafael Cristiano da Silva is a broken character in general, with his Cycling Kick (623K) attack being unblockable and his Rolling Glory super (236HP+HK) having a lingering hitbox at the end of the attack (even after he stops cartwheeling).
The story here is quite simple. Astro Saver, the final boss of this game who is noted to also be the "strongest man of the universe" in-game, hosts the "World Fighting Generation" martial arts tournament. Your character joins in the tournament for specific reasons - Schmitt, the character used in this video, is a German robot that escaped from a factory and sets out to prove that robots are better than humans, according to the official description. In his ending, Schmitt creates a factory that produces more robots similar to him.
