Developed by doujin circle Deeper Create, Battle Call is a fighting game released in 2012 and would be followed up by 2018's Battle Call 2 (a video playthrough for that is already available somewhere in my channel).
Battle Call has four attack buttons - light and heavy variants of punches and kicks. The only notable game mechanic is a universal launcher ("Floating Attacks", HP + HK), as combos in this game are juggle-based. The game's gameplay style emphasizes grounded movement, also making aerial movement less optimal due to a variety of factors (the characters are pretty big, you can't recover/tech from the ground after you're hit in the air, etc).
The story revolves around a fighting tournament - the "Battle Call" tournament, where each contestant has their own motivations to participate. For our character, police officer Rei Aizawa, it's infiltrating the tourney in order to arrest tournament host Kanehira (after convincing her captain, Kimura, that she'll be willing to kill her boyfriend if it meant completing this mission (which is something the two promised)).
She then meets the other main protagonist Hibiki Katsuhiko, who tells her to back off from completing the mission (as he will be doing it instead). Rei manages to convince him otherwise by defeating him in a battle. After defeating the rest of the opponents, Rei is then taken to do a special battle in what I would assume to be Kanehira's mansion in order to fully receive the prize money. It turns out that Kanehira has brainwashed his boyfriend into becoming an assassin (referred to in-game as "Dark Wolf"), which Rei then fights. She then faces Kanehira after Dark Wolf tries to knock him down.
Rei's ending has Hibiki appear in Kanehira's mansion and attempt to beat up Kanehira even further before Rei restrains him from doing so. Rei then reports back to Kimura about what has happened.
