The VRoid project is a 3D model project developed by Japanese online artist community website Pixiv. There, users could upload 3D models to Pixiv's VRoid Hub website, which could then be downloaded and/or used for various purposes, including for use as an avatar in VR/AR platforms or as 3D models in media. One such application of these 3D models comes from VRAST!, a 2.5D fighting game developed by RC_COBALT.

Originally released as "SPRing Fighter V --TYPE VROID--" in 2019, VRAST! is a fighting game that allows you to play as any shared 3D model from VRoid Hub, or any of the game's pre-installed 3D models (also taken from VRoid Hub). This playthrough, in particular, uses a modified version of the "Fumiriya Sakurada" model, which was a preset model from VRoid Studio (pixiv's own official 3D character creator for use within VRoid media). However, various other models from various other creators are present here.

The game is quite basic in terms of mechanics. You have a chain combo system (where you can follow up normal attacks to other stronger normal attacks) to rack up damage, and meter is exclusively used for EX attacks, all of which cost a bar of meter. In addition, as of the 4.0.0 update, you can cancel the light variants of specific special moves to EX attacks.

The real meat and potatoes come from the game's customization system. In addition to selecting a 3D model from VRoid Hub as your character, you can also select from up to 25 different "move types", which are fighting styles that gives you a set of completely different moves - normal attacks, special moves, and EX special moves. These can be customizable upon downloading a 3D model from VRoid Hub (right before a match or playing arcade mode), as well as after a versus match. However, the pre-installed 3D models are already set in advance (i.e. Fumiriya Sakurada here uses the "Boxing" fighting style, which is comprised of punch-heavy boxer attacks), and cannot be changed outside of versus mode.

Arcade mode has you fight up to five random characters (who are represented as the 3D models you have downloaded or have pre-installed). "Standalone" modes only allows you to choose the pre-installed characters (which, again, has their fighting styles pre-determined), while the "Use vRoidHUB" option allows you to select models from VRoid Hub.
