Once upon a time, Tier VIII Japanese cruiser Mogami was the most unbalanced ship in the game. We were barely out of open beta when the nerf bat began to swing, and it swung repeatedly and often until finally, by early 2016, Mogami had been slapped down so hard that playing her at all was an unpleasant experience.

Four years on, though, Wargaming has come to the realization that they may have gone a bit overboard. Mogami hass had some nice quality of life buffs in recent years, and - coupled with the global buff to Japanese cruiser accuracy - is a joy to play once again. The forthcoming upgrade changes in Update 0.9.1 will help her even further. In my inaugural game back in Mogami here on Haven, I am reminded exactly why I have always enjoyed this ship so much.
