The Japanese cruiser line is one of the oldest in World of Warships, which begs the question: after nearly five years of release, how do they fare in the modern meta? After re-grinding the British light cruisers for Research Points, I opted to find out for myself how the Imperial Japanese Navy was doing and sold back all my Japanese cruisers.

Tier VII's Myoko has long been one of my favorite mid-tier cruisers. She's a well-rounded mix of firepower, with troll-y HE, punchy AP, and torpedoes. Her only serious deficiency is in her AA power: like most Japanese cruisers, she's pretty vulnerable to aerial assault. In a game where she's top-tier with no carrier, though, she's a predator.
