For my money, Tier V Premium British cruiser HMS Exeter is one of the best mid-tier premiums around. She brings the HE/AP punch of Furutaka - another ship I love - but marries it to a better AA suite plus a heal. This ship will frequently surprise most mid-tier cruisers - which are primarily light cruisers - with her AP, and her HE is perfectly good for harassing and melting opposing battleships. This game on Strait features an early slap of an opposing Exeter en route to a solid team win.
