Previous WR = 2'27"343 by KSG(ま) Set in 1995. (Gamest Issue 156)
Played on Default settings, Car 1, Japan region.

Played on a keyboard, so subtle turns are a lot harder. I dont think this gives me an advantage.

For the Indy 500 track, getting a fast time boils down to a lot of luck, simply overtaking 1st place as fast as possible does nothing, due to drafting.

Normally, in manual transmission your max speed on flat is 388 KM/H, when drafting this speed will quickly increase to about 428 KM/H.

You'll see me on the final 2 laps juggle drafts with the first place car, letting him draft me, drafting him, etc etc. this allows me to continuously get above 388 KMH and slowly gain time.

The bump at the final turn also might have gained me time, without the bump I'd be hard stuck at 388, but after dropping to 330, then quickly rising to 420, I think this gained me just enough frames to overtake KSG.

It's a luck based run because sometimes the first place car is very uncooperative, being very slow or very fast and not letting you draft juggle, on top of the very volatile nature that is lap 1 and 2 and then the chaining draft hell from 9th place to 2nd place, it's a pretty intense run to do.
