[WR] Telocation Gemini - Any% No KC (No Warp Glitch) Speedrun in 8:32
2When I got my 9:29 WR in this category earlier this year, it was extremely optimized at around 15 seconds away from my sum of bests.
A few months later, the level end cutscene skip was found which saves a total of 57 seconds throughout the run. If I played as cleanly as my 9:29, this would mean a world record of 8:32 would be possible. While I did a few attempts with the new skip, I ended up getting an 8:50 and that stood as the world record for about 5 months.
Well today, I have finally completed a run with the same level of clean gameplay as my 9:29, only this time utilizing the level end cutscene skip. The result was an 8:32, the exact result that you get if you subtract the 57 seconds of timesave the level end cutscene skip gives from my previous world record.
Going forward, 8:2x is definitely possible, but will be pretty hard and will be the final 10-second barrier unless a new skip is found. My only mistakes in this run were a death in Connected Colors and a death in Blocked Track, which lost 1-2 seconds each. Everything else was pretty much perfect.
