Wreck It Ralph | Felix and Qbert Shot Progression #shots
234Sometimes you swing and miss! This was a section of Wreck it Ralph that I did and I pitched the idea that whenever qbert spoke, he crossed his eyes (since he does it in the video game). So in order to speak his language correctly, Fix it felix needed to cross his eyes too. Seems logical, right?
Well when I showed my blocking pass in Dailies it went over like a lead balloon. No one got it, and it distracted from the moment. That was a lesson in not over-doing and over-complicating. The shots ended up ultimately being really fun to animate once I got rid of the crossed eyes, plus I got to help establish how qbert moved and spoke.
