Wrestling Legends: Killer Bees, Mr Wonderful, Animal & Sgt Slaughter at Niagara Falls Comic Con 2019
Wrestling Legends The Killer Bees, Mr. Wonderful, Road Warrior Animal and Sgt. Slaughter -- AKA: Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair, Paul Orndorff, Joseph Laurinaitis and Robert Remus -- reminisces about their careers, share behind-the-scenes stories and answer fan questions at their 2019 Niagara Falls Comic Con Q&A panel.
"The Killer Bees" was a tag team composed of "Jumpin" Jim Brunzell and B. Brian Blair in the World Wrestling Federation from 1985 to 1988 and later in the independent circuit. The team name is a play on the name of the Miami Dolphins' defensive unit known as the Killer Bs, which was dominant and popular in the NFL at that time, as both team members' last name started with a "B," as did the last names of several Dolphin players. James Brunzell (born August 13th, 1949) is an American retired professional wrestler who is best known for his successful tag teams and has performed for various wrestling promotions during his 21-year career. Brian Leslie Blair (born January 12th, 1959) is an American politician and professional wrestler who is best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the ring name B. Brian Blair.
Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. (born October 29th, 1949) is an American former professional wrestler, best known for his appearances with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. Orndorff became a star in the 1980s WWF wrestling boom. Orndorff's feud with Hulk Hogan in 1985–1986 is a highlight of his career. Orndorff departed the WWF for WCW in early 1988. After retiring, Orndorff worked as a professional wrestling trainer. In 2011, Orndorff was diagnosed with cancer, but went through treatment and was declared cancer free by the end of 2011. In WCW he won several titles including the WCW World Television Championship as well as the WCW World Tag Team Championship with Paul Roma (as a team called Pretty Wonderful). He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame in 2009.
Joseph Michael Laurinaitis (born September 12th, 1960) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, Road Warrior Animal (or simply Animal). Along with Road Warrior Hawk, he was one half of the tag team The Road Warriors/The Legion of Doom. Also a sporadic singles competitor, he headlined the 2001 WCW pay-per-view event Sin, in contention for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He is also known for his work in the WWF/E between 1990 to 2006, where he became a three-time tag team champion. He was inducted with Hawk into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
Robert Rudolph Remus (born August 27th, 1948), better known by his ring name Sgt. Slaughter, is an American retired professional wrestler currently signed in WWE in the ambassador program. Remus legitimately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, and was a drill instructor at Parris Island, South Carolina, prior to his professional wrestling career. From the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Slaughter had success in the National Wrestling Alliance, American Wrestling Association, and the World Wrestling Federation. He won the WWF World Heavyweight Championship, and headlined WrestleMania VII, in 1991. Slaughter also captured the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship twice. He is a Hall of Famer, inducted as part of the class of 2004. As Sgt. Slaughter, Remus became known for his dark sunglasses, his large hat, and his Vietnam War–era military fatigues. In the 1980s, an alternate version of the Sgt. Slaughter character was incorporated into the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy line as well as its animated series and comic books.
