50This is Tsutomu Yamaguchi.
He was in Hiroshima on a business trip when the first atomic bomb exploded, and he suffered severe burns and injuries. He managed to return to his hometown of Nagasaki the next day, only to witness the second bomb detonate as he was reporting to his supervisor. He survived again, but endured lifelong health problems and trauma from the radiation exposure. He later became a vocal advocate for nuclear disarmament and peace. He died in 2010 at the age of 93.
