'Sacred soil' dug from First World War battlefields in Belgium has arrived in London ahead of its internment in a memorial garden.

It arrived on a Belgian Navy frigate that docked alongside HMS Belfast in the Thames. The soil will be the focal point of the Wellington Barracks garden to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.
