I played through X-Com: Terror from the Deep in a blind race against LiamGiiV.

This was beginner mode. It'd be absurd to use any higher difficulty for a first playthrough of this game, but we also decided it should be Ironman, and without using any guides, which was a very, very silly decision. I had played through the original X-Com (Ufo Defense) years earlier, the memory of which which did clue me in about a few important things.

We eventually switched to Open X-Com after many restarts. The keyboard controls make a huge difference there. It took me 15 starts to finally get to the end, if I counted correctly.

Overall I like the first game in the series better, but this was still a fantastic game. This final mission was very exciting, even when I couldn't find the last few enemies in the second layer of Undersea Alien Hell.
