One thing I love about some space games is the ability to have a fleet and command them through battles. It is very satisfying to me. And X4 Foundations seems to have a fair amount of fleet command. In this gameplay video, I take my fleet deep into enemy territory. The Xenon won't know what hit them.
At the moment, I'm trying to finish a Xenon versus Argon mission. This mission has me looking for and defeating three Xenon P class cruisers or corvettes. I have to go deep into enemy Xenon sectors to find a few Xenon P cruisers, but after I do, they certainly seem to have no problem calling backup. At one point, after hitting a Xenon station to destroy the turrets, I bring up my map and see that I'm in a swarm of Xenon backup ships. The Xenon cavalry seemed to arrive in no time. Super!
My plan is to grow my fleet by building and adding a fleet carrier to the mix. They are expensive, but I think they are worth it, especially for taking out multiple targets. It's also going to be pretty costly to fill it with fighters. The large carrier that I'm looking at takes up to 40 small ships and ten medium-size ships. Wish me luck!
