Microsoft has announced its plan to launch select Xbox-exclusive titles on the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, marking a significant shift in its gaming strategy aimed at expanding its games' reach beyond its own Xbox consoles.


During the official Xbox podcast, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, disclosed the company's intention to port four specific games to these competing platforms. Although Microsoft has opted not to disclose the names of these games, it is noted that two of them are community-focused, while the others are considered smaller-scale projects.


Insiders familiar with Microsoft's strategy suggest that the initial pair of games to be released will be Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment, with Sea of Thieves and Grounded to follow. Despite this move, Spencer emphasized that Microsoft's approach to Xbox exclusives remains unchanged. However, he also speculated that the gaming industry might see a reduction in console-exclusive titles over the coming decade.
