XBOX ONE INDIES REVEALED ID@XBOX (Escapist News Now)

As part of their reversal on several policies for Xbox One, Microsoft said they will be allowing independent developers to self-publish games on the new Xbox One. They have also changed their exclusivity and time exclusivity policies as well.

A Microsoft spokesperson said, "We do not require exclusivity agreements. However, we do ask for day one parity with other console game platforms. In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we'll work with them on a case-by-case basis."

So far there are over 30 announced developers working on indie content for Xbox One including some very familiar faces. Crytek, the makers of the exclusive launch title, Ryse: Son of Rome, is working on an unannounced self-published game. Double Fine will also be publishing on Xbox One.

Plus there will be Mighty Number 9 from Comcept and Megaman's creator, and Iron Galaxy will be bringing Divekick to Xbox One as well. The list continues with developers like Half-Brick, Signal Studios, Hidden Path, WayForward, and High Voltage Software just to name a few.
