A brief moment of silence for Rk. Claudia Meyer, struck down and left to bleed out by the Chosen Assassin at the end of the previous part. In addition, Pratal Mox has been captured by said Assassin, leaving us down a total of two troops.

Things could be far worse, though! In fact, now's a good time to take inventory and develop the Avenger a little bit. Surely there's plenty of time to do all of that!

Spoiler: there isn't plenty of time to do all of that. ADVENT doesn't rest, and quickly introduces another type of mission to the game, the Retaliation Mission, by kindly assaulting a resistance outpost that may or may not be filled with civilians who maybe aren't fully on board with ADVENT's rule. Nothing says "peacekeeping" like the widespread slaughter of unarmed dissidents, eh? I guess the definition of the word got lost in translation somewhere, or the aliens just have different ideas as to what certain words mean.

Oh yeah, and we come face to face with a new alien type.
