One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
I was excited to try out XCOM: Chimera Squad. This small-scale project by veteran developers of XCOM 2 had a lot of promise on paper, but the execution leaves something to desire.
There are positives, of course - Chimera Squad runs a whole lot smoother and the price point of the game (it often drops to 10 euro or your regional equivalent) is persuasive on its own. I didn't enjoy it enough to recommend it, but I appreciate tremendously that Firaxis is willing to experiment with its formula.
Maybe their next experiment will be more to my taste.
