Despite being only a few hours from completing their research on heavy plasma weapons, EXALT managed to compromise our research data. A frantic Dr Vahlen advised me that their tampering has put the research team back over half a week.

With that in mind, I authorised a brief change of research focus to autopsy the new 'heavy' floater corpse. I figured this would help to sooth Vahlen's anger, and as the research staff are extremely (and perhaps terrifyingly) competent regarding autopsies, it wouldn't take long, and thus would be at minimal risk of interference from further EXALT hacks while our covert operative is busy infiltrating them.

Thankfully, having already conducted a lot of the research already, Dr Vahlen's team were able to quickly cover old ground and not only discover a way to re-purpose the alien technology for use by our Heavies, but also prototyped a new weapon for Brandi Bear, based on the same technology but free of some constraints associated with the weight and bulk of the weapons.

And not long after we finished constructing these new weapons, did we receive a call from Leilith. Seems we're going to get an early opportunity to test these weapons out against EXALT's forces... they're starting to run out of places to hide, it wont be long until we've pinpointed their location at this rate.
