XCOM: Enemy Within - Long War - Impossible Part 180
This episode can be called either MEC Commander or MEC Warriror ;) I've gathered all MEC classes into one mission. I've made another Marauder, and change perks as one person mentioned in few videos back then. I've also made another Jager, just to check other combination. I couldn't make 2 classes to MSGT level but that wouldn't make them any more different. Most of the classes hit their potential on SGT, TSGT level.
My overall thoughts:
1. Marauder - weaker version of Assault class in offensive capabilities with buffed defensiveness. Making R&G and DF on same tier is no go for me. If your assault has good enough will for PSI, it's far more superior to Marauder
2. Valkyrie - sort of fair trade here, but strangely vs robotic enemies Heavy Plasma Rifle deals more damage.
3. Goliath - without DF is worse than Gunner. I know that it's toughness is highest of all MECs, but still one can survive only limited shots, and not to get shot is even better option.
4. Archer - this should be Goliath instead. The only bad thing about changing Rocketeer to Archer is loss of Blaster Launcher. With max 3 rockets Rocketeer is far more superior. Grenade Launcher and Proximity mines just don't compare to Blaster Launcher.
5. Shogun - this is true anti robotic unit. With Light 'Em Up and HEAT it will wreck Sectopods / Mechatoids to peaces. Excellent upgrade comparing to weak Engineer - the most useless class in my opinion
6. Guardian - nothing spectacular here - just more armoured medic. Body shield and Field Medic should not be in the same line. Though it is named guardian - there are little defensive skills - maybe they've mixed them up with Goliath?
7. Pathfinder - the only thing that I can say about Pathfinder is, that they clearly didn't have any idea what to put. Even on MSGT level when you get Lightning Reflexes, your standard assault will be still better. Even the standard scout is just failed shadow of assault.
8. Jaeger - it's a fair trade from sniper class. Good choice of perks, nice damage and shredder ammo will help deal with those tough mutons, and will help Shogun with even more damage against robotic units.
