New challenge series that's uncharted territory trying to beat this game as low level as possible, will be my most challenging and extensive series yet. This game has plenty of untapped challenge run potential, so a low level run like I did with FR felt like the most appropriate and intriguing thing to do. Very different kind of a low level run compared to FR, and especially any of the other games. Ethel is the first "real" story fight that's not tied to tutorials so this felt like the best starting point.
Difficulty: 6/10
Fairly difficult to survive the initial 1-2 minutes against this many enemies and having shaky accuracy+2 healers. But even with Ethel alone, she can still easily cause a wipe and she survives a long time since you need two whole chains to set up a kill. An extra layer of difficulty to this run is purposely avoiding overkills in chains as much as possible.
Every unnecessary point of exp was avoided up to this point, so no bexp was used as well as exploits to avoid non-required fights. I'll be keeping track of every source of extra exp I get throughout the whole run to get an idea of what the "true minimum" should look like and see how realistically close I can get to it, but minor exp gains I may get are going to have next to no impact in the grand scheme of things, it's avoiding overkill exp that's the major challenge (and of course being able to actually beat these fights this low level). Also, I won't be leaving an estimate of how much exp I get from farming for gem materials until the very end because it's just a pain to keep track of and I'm very unsure of what gems will be realistically craftable.
Edit: Yes I initially forgot about disabling overkill, but ultimately decided to leave it on for the whole run to elevate the difficulty of the run trying to work around it
