Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed #020, The Junior Workforce; Southeastern Plateaus

Previously, the party began their trip to Prison Island by exploring the Gelgemos Garrison in the Ragmos Desolation. They also carried out the standard quest "Regret and Resolve" for Jethro. Now, they will work on a new quest in Colony 9. Then, they will build the Ether Lift in the Lakeside Grotto and see where it leads.

The party resumes at the Colony 9 Camp. They drop by Riku's Workshop and upgrade Matthew's Ouroboros Knuckles, A's Monado, Nikol's Variable Backpack, Glimmer's Wildfire Kithara, Shulk's Monado REX+, and Rex's Firelight Swords to rank V.
The party approaches the new quest marker north of the Central Plaza for a scene with Carrom, Axel, and Finley. This requires having rescued Finley in the Lakeside Grotto and Axel at the Oracle Spire. These two are adorable. The standard quest "The Junior Workforce" begins. The next stop is the Command Center.
At the Command Center, the party talks to Carrom for a scene. Next, they must go to a new shop opening in the Central Plaza.
At the Central Plaza, the party talks to the Liberator Soldier at the Col. 9 Supply Office (New). She will test Axel and Finley to correctly categorize a randomly selected series of items. They must get each answer correct, but they can try again as many times as needed. When the kids pass the quiz, another scene takes place. "The Junior Workforce" complete! The Col. 9 Supply Office (New) is now open. The party earns an Art Unlock Kit. Nikol uses it to unlock his final Art slot.
The party completes Community tasks for Finley, Axel, and Carrom.
Next, they skip travel to the Cryoconite Laurel grave in the Lakeside Grotto, Yesterdale.

The party constructs the Ether Lift in the Lakeside Grotto. It carries them up to a ledge. They find a Relic in the east. Contents include an Affinity Growth Unlock Kit; Lessons in Unity, vol. 7; Battle Manual, vol. 5; and an Analyzer Scope. Nikol unlocks his third Affinity Growth panel with the kit.
To the west, the party constructs an Ether Slide. It takes them west to a plateau in the Aurora Shelf.

An Ether Channel is in the west of the plateau.
In the south, they construct an Ether Slide. It takes them south to another plateau, where they find the Ravaged Village. They view an Affinity Scene.
The party seals a Fog Rift in the village. They earn a Black Shard.
By the western ledge, they construct a helpful Ether Mast. North of the mast, they find a Container. Contents include a Nopon Medal.
South of the village, the party constructs another Ether Slide. It takes them south to the northeastern plateau in the Vermilion Woods.
39:50 - Vermilion Woods
A short way south, the party takes out some Smart Rhoguls in an Intervention.
They find an Art Unlock Kit on the eastern side. Contents include an Art Unlock Kit; Lessons in Unity, vol. 3; and Tactics Manual, vol. 3. Glimmer unlocks her final Art slot with the kit.
The party constructs another Ether Slide to the south. It takes them south to the eastern plateau. They repair an Ether Mast where they arrive.
East of the mast, a narrow path leads to the Palace of Bal Attas secret area. There is a Relic here. Contents include a Gem Unlock Kit; a Nopon Medal; a Nopon Strap; and Battle Manual, vol. 4.
South of the Ether Mast, the party finds a Container with Strategy Manual, vol 3; Strategy Manual, vol 4; and Strategy Manual, vol 5.
The party drops down west to a lower plateau, where there is an Ether Channel.
In the south of the Parvus Airspring, the party repairs a Ladder. It takes them up to a Container.
The party skip travels to the Battlefield Camp. They find new Kevesi enemies in the east.
East of the Colony 5 Wreckage, they confront the 7th Platoon "Saltmarsh" at the Colony 22, 7th Platoon Camp. This Keves Outpost Incursion contains 21 Kevesi enemies. Atop a tower east of the main tent, they find a Mysterious Fragment.
Glimmer uses the Gem Unlock Kit the party found at the Palace of Bal Attas. She unlocks a second Gem slot.
The party skip travels to the Panorama Camp, Aurora Shelf.

They find the Panorama Camp in an Agnus Outpost Incursion. Yikes! They skip travel to the Colony 9 Camp.

The party saves. Next time, they will continue towards Prison Island.
