If you're like me and never played the first one nor any of the original XCOM games, get ready to sit down and strap in high percentage misses and positioning punishment galore. Yes, the newer releases of XCOM and XCOM 2 did prepare me for this, but there's something to be said about scaling things back, removing some of the quality of life conveniences, and just pitting the player versus impossible odds.
