0"Xexyz" is a video game published by Hudson Soft for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988. The game is set in the year 2777, in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by nuclear war and natural disasters. The island nation of Xexyz faces a new threat from alien robots.
The gameplay centers around the protagonist Apollo, who advances through the game in alternating formats. The game switches between platform-based side-scrolling action and side-scrolling shooter action. The objective is to defeat the evil Goruza, rescue Princess Maria, and save the planet.
In the platforming levels, defeated enemies drop life (represented by 'L' blocks) and money (represented by 'E' blocks) power-ups.
