Xtreme Tutorials - Play Japanese Mega CD Games on a US Sega CD Console with an Everdrive
11Just picked up a Japanese copy of Sonic CD from eBay because the Japanese and PAL versions of that game are most notable for featuring a different soundtrack compared to the US Version which I already had. It's a good game no matter which soundtrack you use as you may know. In normal circumstances, a US Sega CD would not load a Japanese Mega CD game and vice-versa, treating it like an Audio CD, but if you have an Everdrive MD (or Mega Everdrive), you could simply locate a copy of the Mega CD Model 2 Japanese Bios from a source (cannot provide link), put it on your SD Card and load it on the Everdrive as if it were a regular game. Then, if you have a Sega CD console, it will read the game as if you had a Japanese Mega CD 2. Note that this will not work with a Japanese Model 1 Mega CD bios as that one is region locked and requires a Japanese system. PAL Bios files will not work either as far as I've tried at some point before and I don't have any PAL hardware anyway. I hope you all enjoyed this video and hope that it benefitted you in some way.

Note that the Everdrive I am using in this video is an original one which stopped being manufactured like in 2014 or 2015, but you can try this on a Mega Everdrive as well.
