"The Xubuntu team is happy to announce the immediate release of Xubuntu 21.10. Xubuntu 21.10, code-named Impish Indri, is a regular release and will be supported for 9 months, until June 2022. If you need a stable environment with longer support time we recommend that you use Xubuntu 20.04 LTS instead. Highlights: Xubuntu now comes pre-installed with GNOME Disk Analyzer, GNOME Disk Utility and Rhythmbox; Disk Analyzer and Disk Utility make it easier to monitor and manage your partitions; Rhythmbox enables music playback with a dedicated media library; Pipewire is now included in Xubuntu and is used in conjunction with PulseAudio to improve audio playback and hardware support in Linux; Keyboard shortcuts - the Super (Windows) key will now reveal the applications menu, existing Super+ keyboard shortcuts are unaffected. Known issues: the shutdown prompt may not be displayed at the end of the installation.

And another update of Canonical's operating system, Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri, is coming out. Check out the news and find out where to download the distro.
Yes. Canonical has finally released Ubuntu 21.10 – the latest iteration of one of the most popular open source operating systems.
In this article, we'll look at what's new in Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri and how you can update it.
What's New in Ubuntu 21.10 Impish Indri
Dubbed “Impish Indri”, Ubuntu 21.10 has been in development for six months and comes as an update to Ubuntu 21.04 “Hiruste Hippo” which will come to an end in January 2022. Ubuntu 21.10 is compatible for the next nine months until July 2022, therefore, is the obvious upgrade choice.
The biggest new addition to Ubuntu 21.10 “Impish Indri” is the GNOME 40 desktop environment. This is the first Ubuntu release to ship with a full GNOME 40 desktop, as the Ubuntu 21.04 release only offered GNOME 40 applications on top of GNOME Desktop Environment 3.38.
So Ubuntu users will finally be able to enjoy the redesigned GNOME 40 Activities Overview with dynamic horizontal workspaces, new touchpad gestures, more immersive application navigation and launching, and much more.
However, Activities Overview is not enabled by default and Ubuntu 21.10 does not use the GNOME 40 dock.
Ubuntu 21.10 maintains the same look and feel as it was used since 2004 with the release of Ubuntu 11.04 “Natty Narwhal”, ie with the Ubuntu Dock on the left side of the screen and the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Speaking of look and feel, Ubuntu 21.10 introduces an improved Yaru theme to accommodate the GNOME 40 desktop environment and removes the mixed light and dark theme from the Appearance panel in System Settings, which was used in previous versions.
Another big change in Ubuntu 21.10 is the Firefox browser as a Snap package by default.
The main advantage of Firefox Snap is that Ubuntu users will get new versions the same time they are released upstream, but it also improves web browser security by being a sandboxed application.
"Enabled by default [KFENCE], Ubuntu 21.10 will randomize the kernel stack memory location on each system call entry on the amd64 and arm64 architectures with minimal performance impact."
