A bit of story progression gets Kiryu the ability to toss cash around to avoid random encounters in the streets. Even after learning this, I don't do it that often cuz you can usually just outrun guys you don't want to fight, and I like the combat anyways, so I'll often just do the fight.

There's a fun sidequest with Miracle Johnson where you help him do a music video shoot by fighting off a bunch of zombies. The name jokes are obvious, but another joke during this is Kiryu saying he'll never have to fight zombies again, while there's actually a game where he does just that. From what I understand, no one liked it, so they're poking fun at it. The only reason I'm even aware of it is because the zombies in that game were featured in Project X Zone 2, along with Kiryu and Majima.
