Yes, Beldum Can Actually Be Caught in A Heavy Ball in USUM
70Now here's a sentence I did not expect to say.
Heavy Ball Beldum is actually legal now. In Sun and Moon, the game had a hard coded check for negative catch rates, but now the game sets it to 1 when applicable.
Beldum has a base of 3 in catch rate, but is too lightweight for Heavy Ball. So it gets a -20 modifier. 3-20 = -17, which then gets set to 0. And now that 0 gets set to 1, making it not only legal, but about thrice as easy as getting a Beast Ball Beldum.
I am leaving full, long form of this video as evidence it is indeed legal. I did not modify the catch rate in the ROM in any way, shape or form. I did use a Roto Catch power, but that is within the bounds of what is allowed in the game.
