Cards have memories for how they were summoned, which work in funny ways. Say a monster was synchro summoned and its sent to the GY. Since it was summoned properly, you can then summon it back with something like Monster Reborn. If its banished(Dark Core), you can bring it back from the banishment. And if its flipped face down(Book of Moon), or removed and returned to the field (World Legacy Clash), it still remembers it was synchro summoned properly. However, if that monster is flipped face down(Book of Moon), and then you flip it back face up, will its effects be negated by Nekroz of Unicore, which negates the effects of monsters special summoned from the extra deck? The answer is actually no, because it was flipped summoned, and monsters only remember the last kind of summon that was done to them. However, if its sent to the GY, it still remembers that it was summoned properly, so you can bring it back with monster reborn, even though its last summon was a flip summon. That causes the card to forget it was summoned from the extra deck, but remember that it was summoned properly from the extra deck.
