Your complete guide to Anzac Day Dawn Services around the country
After two years of disrupted plans. crowds will once again be welcomed back at most Anzac Day services across Australia. Sydney's main dawn service will be held at the Martin Place Cenotaph at 4.30am. followed by the march at 9am at the intersection of Martin Place and Elizabeth St. in the CBD. Members of the public are invited to access two standing areas via Pitt Street or George Street. Brisbane will hold its traditional dawn service located at the city's Shrine of Remembrance. Anzac Square. located between Ann and Adelaide Streets. The service starts from 4.28am. opening with the sounding of the Last Post. The Anzac Day march will take place along its traditional route. starting on George Street. from 9.45am to 2.30pm and will feature former and current Australian Defence Force veterans. The dawn service at the State War Memorial in Kings Park will be a small. invitation only event to enable us to broadcast the service to the broader community. While this year's event will not have capacity restrictions. there will still be a COVID Safety Plan and relevant measures in place. including a check in QR codes. Following the service. the traditional Anzac Day march will depart the intersection of Macquarie and Elizabeth streets at 11am. The parade will march to the Cenotaph. where the wreath laying service is to commence at 11.45am. The ACT Branch of the RSL will conduct the veteran's march through the western grounds of the Memorial from 9.30am. The Anzac Day Last Post Ceremony will be held that evening in the Commemorative Area at 4.45pm. This ceremony will include the official wreath laying by veteran association members and representatives. A commemorative march will take place at 9:30am with war veterans.
