In this video, I explain how to calculate how much money YouTubers earn in YouTube Ad Revenue. This video is aimed to be as informative as possible in a short a time as possible.
Hopefully, this video will serve as a good beginner level tutorial for anyone interested in how to calculate YouTube Ad revenue.
While ideally, if you're relying on YouTube as your source of income, YouTube Ad Revenue should only amount to a small amount of your income, but when you're still establishing yourself your channel, YouTube Ad Revenue can make up a significant amount of your earning.
CPM - (in online advertising) cost per mille (the amount an advertiser pays a website per one thousand visitors who see its advertisements).
For YouTube, CPM is effected by several factors including:
1) Industry
2) Time of Year
3) Demonisation
4) How many Ads are shown in the video
5) Google Preferred
6) YouTube Premium
As a rough estimate here is a break down of CPM rates per industry I've been able to dig up as of 2020:
Prank/Music/Gaming/Commentary/VLOGs - $0 - $4+
Car - $2 - $5+
Makeup/Beauty - $3 - $10+
Credit/Finance - $6 - $10+
Real Estate/Investing - $12 - $15+
Facebook Ads/Ecommerce/Shopify - $12-20+
During the video, I do an estimation of how much money MrBeast currently makes in YouTube Ad Revenue.
There is no way of knowing how much money a YouTuber makes in total, it is their business no one else's. If they want to share the information with anyone other than the taxman, it's up to them.
