Currently the YouTube sub reddit is on fire! Yesterday RTGame shared a video in which he talks about how a new YouTube policy threatens to retroactively demonetise and or age restrict all past videos that contain any profanity in the first 7 seconds and potentially videos that contain gameplay of any mature rated game. Content even got flagged for offences that the creators didn’t even commit. Obviously this caused a huge uproar in the YouTube content creator community and put YouTube on the spot. For not even telling creators what the exact issue in their video was. And that they only have one attempt to correctly guess it and appeal. Meanwhile YouTube allows ads that are super offensive, toxic content and drama bait videos get put on trending. In this video I discuss the current state of this story and what it might mean for YouTube as a whole.
