I'd just like to point out that I actually always liked the beta channel, and still don't see what the fuss is all about, but TF makes legitimate points and i'd just like to share this with the 2 or 3 subscribers of mine who are not also subscribed to TF. I don't know how well his argument would hold up if ratings were visible all the time though. The beta channels offer additional functionality and are more streamlined and I think better in almost every way, but that might just be the former web developer in my talking. Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder but I also find them aesthetically pleasing.
