After a discussion with mum and dad about books on my radio show, I remarked that I'd never published a book (which isn't strictly true, as there was my PhD thesis, but that's not really a general audience book, and it was most definitely a limited print run!)
Dad reminded me that I had been published in a leaflet, in the form of a poem I wrote whilst on a school trip with Cwmtawe School's Environment Club, who produced a 'Tree Trail' for Swansea's Clyne Gardens. The worksheet we were given - which I thought was just something given to us to keep us occupied - turned out to be a competition, which I'd won without knowing it, until thousands of copies of the poem I never thought I'd see again appeared in leaflet stands all across the city, not just at the entrance to the gardens...
