Oh lord. I had this game for a few years already and never played it much. But since some friends started yakkin' about it these days, I decided to rip the CD-ROM and patch it so I could, you know, understand the text in the game. :P Sadly, the giant head voiceovers aren't subbed. But hey, it's way better than nothing! :D

There's no real point to this video. I originally just wanted to show the good times I was having by pretending to have a competition with Karna to see who could slice up more soldiers. Unfortunately, Karna kills enemies in one hit. :P .... I knew I should have levelled up Adol at least one more level before moving on from the Border Pass! But then, I dunno if I could sit around and waste over 200 enemies just for a single level up. :E

Anyway, there's a bigass black border around the gameplay area since I have to play in full screen to record. :/ Using Fraps with Magic Engine in windowed mode seems to make things go at a snail's pace. I'm not really well-versed in computer tinkering so I haven't looked into whether or not I could get some smooth gaming going with both progs running. (2 GBs of RAM and a quad core can't take it?)

Ah, so far I'm loving Ys IV PCE. The graphics are adorable, the music (I'm not sure the chip music is rendered properly though???) and sound effects are awesome, and it's classic Ys gameplay!!! :DDDDDD I doubt I'll stick to it though since that seems to be the trend with any game I touch these days. I have an attention span of a gold fish. :(
