FALCOM one of the best developers since old console days is back with another JRPG but on mobile and it's remake into a mobile game? I honestly don't know how to describe this convertion into a mobile game of a console game (that's on pc too I guess and psp?) but let's dive into it.

Truly it brings a lot of Nostalgic vibes since I completed this specific game on my old psp I believe back in the day... Yes I'm also a YS fan of Adol the Red and his travels along with his companions from different sequels of this game.

In this game however Adol upgraded into a bulky greatsword user with Ari red hair but looks more like an adult compared to his original relatable teenage design. A huge difference in this version of the game is that you make your own character and you fight alongside Adol the Brave. I would rather play as Adol but oh well.

So you create your character and choose from different classes but I can't seem to customize my chatacter and I could only customize my name lol or am I wrong? So the game starts with you alongside adol fighting the big bad guy in an outdated jrpg story telling fashion which is kinda nostalgic and cool but the problem is the gameplay is outdated as well in my own point of view the mobile rpg game control scheme especially with mobile mmos and the combat feels outdated to me. I would prefer if they just copy pasted the fast paced console style gaming. Even worse it seems that it has auto play and I stopped playing accordingly by coincidence. So this is a mobile mmo I guess with the same copy paste combat and controls. I heard it's a gacha game but I don't know because I honestly won't be playing this game any further.

Honestly it is not worth it even for a hardcore YS fan. You're just better off playing the older and new games maybe in chronological order since the gameplay improves a bit per sequel if I recall correctly I mean it's been awhile. For newcomers I think this will be a good YS starter experience since it's free anyways.
