[Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel] Marincess vs Salamangreat (Link Regulation)
A video in which I play into THREE Maxx C's. What a great card!
The only Maxx C I really had a choice in was the first one - however, since he chained his first Maxx C to Anemone, he was guaranteed at least one draw off it. I then had to weight the risks of giving him 3 additional cards but ending on a proper board, versus terminating my turn and ending on nothing. At that point in the combo no further handtraps would have posted any risk to me at all besides Nibiru, and I figured the chances of him pulling Nibiru within two draws would be low enough to be worth risking.
The main issue with giving him the additional draws was his ability to play through my board given a full hand, but Salamangreat is hard countered by Nibiru so I was confident I had enough negate/interaction available. I did give him an additional draw with Sleepy Maiden as I wanted to protect Battle Ocean against Salamangreat Foxy, which in hindsight was unnecessary and I should have skipped. Nevertheless, I successfully baited out the facedown with Argonaut/Ghost Ogre, so I knew Nibiru was an instant turn ender even though it'd sacrifice my own board.
I did not expect the second Maxx C, but there was nothing I could really do about it. The two draws off it meant I was forced to play into the last Maxx C as I no longer had anything available to stop him if he got another turn off. I could have gone for fatal early by equipping to Blue Slug since she would've hit exactly 3500 ATK, but I was worried about the facedown and continued playing in case it was Rage. I would have lost the game if he had used it early to pop any of my monsters, but fortunately the opponent was scared of possible extenders in hand and went for Battle Ocean pop instead.
