After some setup optimizing it turns out challenge mode wasn't actually that hard. Red Hood is by far the best character to use for challenge runs...it ended up just mostly just being rng in getting the right loadout for it but once you do, the run is pretty easy

A few tips to help anyone who is struggling:

- Red Hood is significantly better than Scarlet in this mode, because she has an extra 22% attack which helps significantly with your mobclear. Her burst also does incredible single-target damage compared to Scarlet's AOE burst, which is very important because the burst is primarily used to DPS the boss down. It's definitely possible to clear with Scarlet, but it'll be much harder since you have significantly lower single-target DPS

- Once the boss spawns, you can pause and click "END" to exit the game while saving at the boss fight. This will allow you to resume at the boss. If you fail and game over, you can force quit the app and start it back up to reload the same save and try again. This saves you from having to regrind 30min+ every time in order to get back to the boss

- Landmine is pretty much mandatory. It's very unimpressive at early levels, but once it hits level 5 it becomes the strongest weapon in the game. It has high base damage and spawns several landmines every cast, with each landmine exploding into several projectiles that all do the same high base damage per hit. It's the best weapon for lategame

- Energy shield and Chakram aren't very good. They're incredibly good for the general stage clears and incredibly strong earlygame, but they scale very badly into lategame because they have a low hit rate. Enemies have huge HP amounts in endgame so you want weapons with high firing rate and multiple hits, rather than strong but low hitrate weapons

- Just having Boomerang/Landmine plus either Sword or Reflector is generally enough to get to the boss, so the last couple of weapons can be whatever you prefer. For the easiest time against the boss, I went with Shotgun because it has excellent single-target dps while also clearing the path in front of you when you need to run away from the boss to dodge her projectiles
